During the tenth annual pension symposium organised by Pensioen, Bestuur & Management at the Kurhaus in The Hague, ORTEC received the award for “excellent communication by a commercial provider in the pension market” last night. “ORTEC developed an innovative and convenient pension planner, www.CheckMijnPensioen.nl, that not only combines the pension overviews of the participants, but also takes the entire family income into consideration”, according to the report of the jury. The judges furthermore praised the planner as easy-to-use, with its limited number of input fields and a customer-friendly lay-out. The integration of sound, moving images and text make the pension planner a highly attractive tool; “subsequently, users will be stimulated to try and execute several different scenarios.”
Jeroen van den Bosch thanked the jury on behalf of ORTEC for this recognition and stressed the social engagement of ORTEC in introducing CheckMijnPensioen.nl. He ended his speech noting that “a fundamental step toward pension awareness and understanding is the national register of pensions. This would help facilitate the direct import of data into CheckMijnPensioen.nl, but even more important: it would enable us to give the participant true insight into his or her retirement. The logical result is that we can give a better picture of the entire pension situation and include, among other things, the indexation label.”
The fully-independent website CheckMijnPensoen.nl is accessible for everyone to see his or her future pension free of charge. It is based on the Uniform Pension Overview (UPO), which has become mandatory as of 2008 and is annually conveyed to all active participants of a pension agreement. All the data to be entered in the pension planner are therefore readily available from these annual overviews.
