John van Markwijk and Jan Karstanje to strengthen ORTEC in 2008
Starting January 1st 2008, John van Markwijk and Jan Karstanje will join ORTEC Finance. Van Markwijk will be operating as a managing director, while Karstanje takes on the position of senior advisor. With these additions ORTEC Finance aims to connect its professional consultancy and software solutions for ALM and investment policy more directly to the day-to-day practice.
John (47) has since 1990 played a prominent role in asset management at Interpolis Pensions and its predecessors, eventually fulfilling the position of Director Asset Management Capital Market. Thereafter he transferred to become Director Asset Management at SPF Beheer. Jan (40) followed a similar career path, working first for Interpolis before moving to SPF. He has occupied himself with several functions within asset management, such as Head of Equities.
The arrival of Van Markwijk and Karstanje will bring ORTEC’s ambitions to offer a more integrated service to pension funds several steps closer to realization. Experts in their field, John and Jan give ORTEC a practical knowledge that will help to produce a smoother transition between consultancy and actual implementation.
