After their recent expansion in Switzerland, ORTEC Finance has now opened an office in London as well. ORTEC has already been active in the United Kingdom for several years. Their British clients, among which Lloyds TSB, Hermes Investment Management and Cardano (UK Branche) are all served from the central offices in the Netherlands. The decision to open an office in London was partly made to reduce some of the physical distance, but primarily to bridge the existing cultural divide between the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Our aim is to be strongly involved in the developments at the financial heart of Europe.
The office is managed by Lucas Vermeulen. Lucas has managed several divisions within ORTEC Finance over the past decade, among which the Business Units Performance Evaluation and Investment Consulting.
“The British market has always been judged somewhat of a closed market, but this is rapidly changing in recent times. We strongly believe our solutions can create added value here”, according to Lucas Vermeulen. “Especially the huge U.K. pension branch needs to become more transparent and could use some of our tailor-made solutions. Trustees are seeking greater understanding of the (investment) decision process, more insight in the pros and cons of possible alternatives and, simply put, more overall intuition. Products and services that meet these wishes are, strangely enough, hardly available in this important market. We naturally see a lot of opportunities here for ORTEC Finance.”
