ORTEC Focus on Switzerland
During 2007 ORTEC took the initial steps in a determined strategy to expand its services to the Swiss institutional investor market. The approach included the creation of specific methodologies and models, particularly a detailed modeling of the liabilities reflecting local Swiss regulations. Additionally, significant time has been spent on a number of investment-related issues such as strategic currency allocation for a CHF-based investor and the definition of a methodology for the Swiss Collective Defined Contribution (CDC) system that represents very specific challenges for the decision makers involved. We were fortunate to immediately commence working with a number of important pension funds, and have received considerable interest from several other pension funds and asset managers.
In 2008 we will continue to strengthen our presence in Switzerland from our new office in Pfäffikon, and we look forward to gradually increase our personnel on the ground. Our approach remains focused on a deep and local understanding of our clients’ needs followed by the creation of tailored solutions that will leverage the know-how generated in the last quarter century as well as the latest developments in our tool kit. Our personnel in Switzerland and Holland will share the objectives for each client and work seamlessly together in bringing the best solutions forward, as has already been demonstrated.
This year will also witness the addition of Private Wealth Management solutions to our activities in Switzerland, and we will further increase our attention on the Asset Manager market with the introduction of Advanced LDI and Performance Attribution in Switzerland.
