This is the second year we organize the seminar: building on the positive feedback from last year we have invited again a number of institutional investors who have requested to keep the content of our seminar challenging. our seminar that will take place on Tuesday January 24, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM at the Seedamm Plaza Hotel in Pfäffikon SZ.
Given this request we will have the following program:
• Introduction – emerging best practices in asset allocation
Sinikka Demaré, CFA, Director
Sinikka will highlight some of the best in class practices evidenced by Ortec Finance in the last 12 months.
• Factors driving the economic scenarios
Hens Steehouwer, PhD, Head of Research
In this presentation Hens will explain how we can determine the link between economic and financial variables and the factors influencing them. He will show examples over the business cycle demonstrating the impact of changes over time.
• Formulating return expectations in fixed income space
Joachim Coche, Senior Asset Management Specialist, Bank for International Settlements (BIS)
Our distinguished guest speaker will speak on the topic of methodological and practical examples from our shared area of interest: Ortec Finance experts will address topical issues in Investment Strategy formulation and risk management.
• Understanding the drivers of the realized returns
Elske van de Burgt, Managing Director
Building on Hens’ presentation, Elske will explain the results of the selected investments such as hedge funds or corporate bonds with the help of advanced ex post analysis. The focus of her presentation is twofold: 1) how can we identify the underlying factors and drivers from recent results and use them for improving the ex ante allocation of the risk budget and 2) how to measure the efficient allocation of the risk budget.
