Software Development
The Software Development division designs and develops decision-supporting simulation systems for the financial market. These innovative and complex systems are implemented by Ortec Finance and its partners such as; asset managers, pension funds, insurers, housing corporations and municipalities. Furthermore, they are used as an auxiliary tool for the consultancy to our clients. The goal is to support our clients in a quantitative manner during the determination and execution of their strategic policy. We continuously exert ourselves to adapt our solutions to the special needs of the client and will define new products as well.
Ortec Finance develops and uses exclusively their own models and does not work on secondment basis. To create high-quality systems we combine the modern development tools with a solid knowledge of the financial markets. Our employees are specialised in software development and IT, or they combine their affinity with software development with their knowledge and experience in the financial service sector. In addition, our entire division attends a financial training program.
Job description
We are looking for an experienced software developer who can help us with our JEE web applications. In teams ranging from 3 to 8 people, you will work towards the development of several excellent computing systems. In these efforts, you will work closely with the business units. With some regularity new releases are introduced, instigated by changes in legislation and regulations, our vision and the wishes of clients.
We ask for your contribution in joined thinking about new opportunities and functionalities of the products. You will contribute to the development of insight and vision with regard to the models. You will be connecting the models with the operational systems of other suppliers. Furthermore you will update yourself with IT-trends and you apply the latest IT-technologies and concepts.
Education & Experience
- College or university degree or a related education in Information Technology (or related subject)
- You are knowledgeable of, and have operated with Java language and JEE
- You have 3 - 8 years of work experience
- You have operated with setting up technical designs
- Work experience with and a solid understanding of relational databases and SQL
- Experience with ‘web application frameworks’ is an advantage.
Skills
You have a very strong affinity with software development and IT and you are interested in the financial world. You are an analytical and abstract thinker and you are always willing to learn. You have good communication skills in both Dutch and English language. You are a project-based, independent worker, yet a teamplayer.
