ROTTERDAM, 12 November -- Ortec Finance, a global provider of technology and advisory services for risk and return management, today announced the appointment of Prof. Dr. J.B.S. Conijn (1950) as Director, effective 1 January 2010.
Prof. Conijn will direct Ortec Finance's strategic advisory services for housing market clients, in particular housing corporations. Ortec Finance has a strong position in this sector, providing services for real estate valuations and support for multi-year financial projections to over 200 housing corporation clients.
Prof. Conijn will be responsible for expanding Ortec Finance's strategic advisory services for housing corporations with regard to its financial assets and achieving its desired social responsibility goals. He will focus on involving stakeholders in an optimal manner and on implementing the corporation’s strategy.

Prof. Conijn joins Ortec finance with over 25 years of academic experience in this sector including his 1995 thesis ‘Several financial-economic aspects of national housing’. Prof. Conijn began his career with the Economic Institute for the Building sector and was later appointed director of the OTB research institute at the Technical University of Delft. In 2000 he was appointed partner of RIGO Research & Advisory Services leaving in 2005 to become director of the Central Fund for National Housing where he remained until joining Ortec Finance. Since 2006 Prof. Conijn
has been a
special Professor of Housing Markets in the Faculty of Economics and Commerce at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and is associated with the Amsterdam School of Real Estate. Prof. Conijn will combine his professorships with his new position at Ortec Finance.
